Take a look around SayDo and you’ll see a few new features.
Calendars galore
First up, calendars. There’s been some movement here. For starters there’s a new integration: Outlook Calendar. You can now connect your Outlook Calendar to SayDo and capture things right to it just like you can with Google Calendar. On top of that, there’s support for Apple Calendar on all plans too. Apple Calendar isn’t like other calendars, sadly. There’s no API connection. Here’s how it works: In your SayDo profile is a button for generating a calendar subscription. Click it and you’ll get a URL. Copy that URL and add it to your Apple Calendar as a subscription. Bang. You can add to your Apple Calendar from SayDo too.
With all this talk of calendars, we decided to add a calendar to the app. Yep, SayDo has its very own calendar now.
The Heatmap
You’ll also notice a new link labelled heatmap. This is a new, still-experimental feature that gives you an ambient awareness of your pressing tasks. Tasks can be sourced from various integrations you have connected, and give you at-a-glance insight into what most needs your attention. We look at the due date, effort required and how consequential the task is to determine how “hot” it is. The hotter the task, the more attention it needs. Depending on your SayDo plan, you can choose to have calendar events, GitHub issues or Jira tickets included in the heatmap. Really pressing tasks pulsate to grab your attention. Give it a try!
I should point out, this feature isn’t complete. Still juggling with algorithms and visuals and so forth. With that in mind, feedback is very much welcomed.
